Our algorithms analyze over 2,500 cryptocurrencies in real-time, identifying coins with the strongest short-term momentum signals.
Predict-A-Coin monitors over 2,500 cryptocurrencies in real time, scoring each one on a 0-100 scale we call the PAC Score. The goal is simple: surface the handful of coins most likely to produce a positive move over the next 12-24 hours while filtering out noise.
This is a short-term momentum tool, not a long-term investment screener. If you are looking for coins to hold for weeks or months, PAC is not the right fit.
PAC combines five weighted factors into a single number:
Higher scores indicate stronger alignment of social buzz, upward momentum, healthy volume, manageable volatility, and favorable market-cap positioning.
Not every PAC score is created equal. Our live backtest data shows a clear inflection point:
The PAC 50 cutoff comes directly from live performance data. Coins below 50 drag average returns negative; coins at 50+ have historically delivered a positive edge.
PAC is tuned for short bursts. Our backtest evaluates signals at multiple windows:
If you see a PAC 50+ signal, the opportunity window is measured in hours, not days.
We classify Bitcoin and overall market conditions into four regimes: Accumulation, Markup (Bull), Markdown (Bear), and Neutral. Each regime automatically adjusts how the five PAC factors are weighted.
So far, most PAC 50+ signals have appeared in Neutral conditions. The algorithm finds its edge in choppy, sideways markets rather than clear trends.
We publish every signal's outcome on the Backtest page. This includes wins and losses across all PAC tiers and holding windows.

PAC Score (Predict-A-Coin Score) is our proprietary ranking system that combines multiple data sources into a single 0-100 score. It's a weighted algorithm that analyzes:
⚡ Adaptive Intelligence: The algorithm automatically adjusts the weight of each factor based on current market conditions (see next question for details).
PAC v2 Algorithm Enhancements
PAC Score Thresholds (Based on Live Backtest Data)
The score updates in real-time and appears on every coin card. Click any coin to see the detailed breakdown of how its score is calculated. See the live backtest page for current performance stats by PAC tier.
PAC is designed for short-term moves, typically evaluated over 12 to 24 hours.
Holding Window Behavior (PAC 50+ Signals)
We use 24 hours as the primary evaluation window because it has the most data points, while continuing to monitor shorter windows as more signals complete. The backtest page shows performance across all time windows.
💡 Key Insight: PAC is not designed for long-term holds. If you're looking at a PAC 50+ signal, the edge appears to be in the first 12-24 hours, not days or weeks later.
Yes! Our algorithm uses Market Regime Detection to automatically adjust how it evaluates coins based on current market conditions:
How It Works:
The system analyzes Bitcoin's price movement, total market capitalization changes, and the Fear & Greed Index to classify the market into one of four regimes:
Current Observation: In live data so far, PAC 50+ signals have appeared primarily in neutral market conditions. The algorithm appears to find its edge in choppy, sideways markets rather than clear trending regimes. As more high-PAC signals appear in other regimes, we will update the backtest page to show performance by regime.
You can see the current market regime in the header next to "Last updated" (e.g., Market: NEUTRAL).
We monitor the top 2,500+ cryptocurrencies by market cap in real-time — covering nearly all coins with meaningful trading volume and liquidity. Our system pulls data from multiple sources including CoinGecko (price, volume, market data) and LunarCrush (social signals, Galaxy Score, AltRank).
Every 60 seconds, our algorithms process thousands of data points across price action, trading volume, market capitalization, volatility patterns, and social media signals to identify emerging trends.
Only coins with PAC scores of 50 or higher are displayed on the homepage — everything below that threshold is treated as research data and filtered out of public view.
Spiking Now identifies coins experiencing immediate momentum — based on aggressive short-term price action (1h), volume surges, and acceleration patterns. These are coins moving right now.
Predicted Movers identifies coins likely to spike within the next 24-48 hours — based on early social buzz, building volume, positive momentum trends, and breakout signal detection.
Important: Both sections only display PAC 50+ signals. Lower-scoring coins are excluded regardless of their short-term momentum.
Galaxy Score is a comprehensive social media performance metric rated on a scale of 0-100. It measures a cryptocurrency's buzz and online engagement across all platforms:
Galaxy Score is one of the five factors that feeds into PAC Score, weighted at 35% of the total. A high Galaxy Score alone doesn't guarantee a high PAC Score — the coin also needs momentum, volume, and the right volatility profile.
AltRank is the competitive ranking position among all tracked cryptocurrencies, ordered by their Galaxy Score.
Example:
• Bitcoin has Galaxy Score 85 → AltRank #1 (highest Galaxy Score)
• Ethereum has Galaxy Score 78 → AltRank #2 (second highest)
• A coin with Galaxy Score 45 → AltRank #250 (250th highest)
Coins with AltRank under 100 are in the top tier of social activity. We display AltRank to help you see which coins are dominating the conversation, but remember: social buzz is only one factor in the PAC Score.
We publish live backtest results on the Backtest page, updated automatically as signals complete their evaluation window.
What the Backtest Shows:
The key insight: unfiltered signals (all PAC scores) show negative average returns. Once we filter to PAC 50+, performance flips to positive. That's why we only surface PAC 50+ on the homepage.
⚠️ Disclaimer: All stats are from live data and will change over time. Sample sizes at higher PAC tiers are still small. Past performance does not guarantee future results. This is a research tool, not financial advice.
Yes — social media is a critical leading indicator for cryptocurrency price movements. We analyze real-time data from Twitter, Reddit, news sources, and crypto forums to detect emerging trends.
Social signals carry the highest weight (35%) in the PAC algorithm, but they're combined with momentum, volume, volatility, and market cap data. A coin with high social buzz but no volume or momentum won't score well.
All data refreshes automatically every 60 seconds. You can see the last update timestamp in the header.
Backtest statistics update as signals complete their 24-hour evaluation window. The performance strip on the homepage and the backtest page pull from the same analysis endpoint to ensure consistency.
Predict-A-Coin aggregates data from multiple trusted sources:
Data refreshes every 60 seconds. We cache results to ensure fast page loads while respecting API rate limits.
CoinGecko tracks over 20,000 cryptocurrencies, but most are untradeable for practical purposes:
The Result: By focusing on the top 2,500 by market cap, we cover virtually every coin you can actually trade — while filtering out noise that would degrade signal quality.
